"Grandes Ligas" is a song performed by American singer-songwriter Lupillo Rivera and Mexican rappers Alemán and Santa Fe Klan, featuring American rappers Snoop Dogg and B-Real. The song was released as a single on 14 May 2021, through Prajin Parlay and Z Records.[1] In the song's chorus, Rivera interpolates the first and last verses from his song "El Pelotero".[2]

Background edit

Lupillo Rivera recorded and released "El Pelotero" in 1996, and rerecorded it in December 2020.[3] Rivera had said that him and American rapper Snoop Dogg were classmates in a biology class, going to the same high school, and was impressed seeing him "pop up" in rap music scene. Rivera had also listened to his sister's music, who is Jenni Rivera.[2] Rivera was also impressed with Cypress Hill lead rapper B-Real's verse in the song, switching from both English and Spanish. The song is also the first collaboration between Mexican rappers Alemán and Santa Fe Klan.[4]

Music video edit

A music video was premiered on Prajin Music Group's YouTube channel on the same day of the song's release. It was recorded in Los Angeles, California and was produced by Pirotecnia Films and was directed by Edgar Nito.
