Graham Chatoor (born 12 January 2000) is a Trinidad and Tobago competitive swimmer currently training at the Mission Viejo Nadadores[3] based in Southern California.[4] He is the Trinidad and Tobago record holder in the long course 800 metre freestyle[5] and 4x100 metre freestyle relay.[6] Collegiately, he competed for the New York University Violets.[2]

2023 edit

Chatoor most recently competed at the 2023 World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Athens, Greece and Budapest, Hungary. Chatoor also competed at the 2023 San Salvador.[7]

Chatoor set both personal records and new national records in the 800m and 1500m metre freestyles at his home pool in Mission Viejo during the 2023 Fran Crippen Memorial Swim Meet of Champions, finishing in times of 8:16.65 and 16:07.67[1] [8]

In the B-final of the TYR Pro Swim Series in Mission Viejo again, Chatoor broke Dylan Carter's 400m freestyle record in 3:57.45 (previously 3:58.41). The previous record was held for nine years and was set when Carter was 18 years old.[9]

2022 edit

Chatoor competed at the Commonwealth Games, where he became the fastest Carifta Region swimmer in history for the 1500m freestyle by finishing in 16:10.96.[10] Chatoor also competed in the 400m freestyle at this meet.[11]

2019 edit

Chatoor set Trinidad's national record in the 1500m freestyle, finishing in a time of 16:13.84 during the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. He also competed in the 400m freestyle, placing 13th in a time of 4:02.77. [12]

2016 edit

Chatoor set a national record in the 800m freestyle at the National Open Short Course Championships in 2016. Finishing in 8:44.93, he was faster than all swimmers in the event by over a minute and broke the previously held record (8:46.26 by Romany) by over a second. Also during this season, Chatoor won the 5 km Subway Maracas Open Water Classic and earned fourth for the 1500m freestyle at the Caribbean Island Swimming Championships.[13]
