Dr. Gavin Quek, born 11th March 1998, is a dentist currently working in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. He currently serves as the Secretary of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) Tasmania and Chairs it Oral Health Promotion Committee. He is also Vice-Chair of the National ADA Oral Health Committee. Gavin is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Director (MAICD) and Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders ANZ (FIML).

Gavin studied at the University of Adelaide and graduated in 2021.
Career & Accomplishments edit
Gavin is an active oral health advocate. In 2021, he was awarded with the Adelaide Graduate Award. In 2022, he was inducted as a Fellow of the International Academy for Dento-Facial Esthetics (FIADFE). In February 2023, Gavin gave TEDx speech about how curiosity drives contribution and about how oral and general health are so closely connected. In 2023, he was awarded the Premier’s Young Achiever of the Year and was named Hobart’s Young Citizen of the Year. He was also awarded the Health & Christopher Chong Community Service & Volunteering Award and the Rising Star Alumni Award 2023.
He is also a current Advisory Board Member at the ADA Dental Health Foundation. Founded in 1982, the ADA Dental Health Foundation (ADA DHF) has been servicing disadvantaged Australians for 30 years. The ADA DHF has several key programs including Rebuilding Smiles, Adopt a Patient and the Dental Rescue Days programs. The ADA DHF is a registered charity.
