Flagpedia (site: https://flagpedia.net) is a website that gives you information about national flags of sovereign countries, dependent territories, United Kingdom's states, international organizations, The United States' states and autonomous regions that are defined in ISO 3166-1 and has existing country codes.[1] Most sources of flags are from Wikimedia Commons itself,[2] and are converted from SVG to PNG. You can also guess all national flags, and copy flag emojis to your clipboard. The website is founded by David Krmela, founder of educational websites and a part of Czech Vexillological Society.[3] This website is published on 2008.

However, the inclusion of certain nations should not be interpreted as a political statement or as an endorsement of specific national claims. Our methodology is also closely aligned with that of the Unicode Consortium, the non-profit organization responsible for emoji flags. Our list of countries corresponds exactly to those represented by emojis, with the exception of Northern Ireland, for which an emoji does not exist. Our list of all country flags consists of: Countries defined in ISO 3166-1: Our main source is The International Standard for country codes created by The International Organization for Standardization, which includes 249 countries. Kosovo: Despite not being part of ISO 3166-1, Kosovo has a distinct code XK used by numerous international organizations such as the IMF, SWIFT, and the European Commission. Constituent countries of the United Kingdom: Individual countries of the UK that are part of ISO 3166-2:GB (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales)". flagpedia.net. Retrieved 2024-01-14.
