Explorers Against Extinction[1] is a UK registered charity (Registration number 1177505)[2]. It is the working name of the Real World Conservation Trust, an organisation that campaigns against species extinction & habitat loss worldwide. It also works to highlight climate change and its affects on the natural world.
Since its foundation in 2018 it has worked on conservation projects in over 30 countries, covering all seven continents. It works on pre-costed, immediate need projects. Partner organisations have included African Parks,[3] Conservation South Luangwa,[4] and Animals Asia Foundation[5]
Its flagship fund-raising campaign is Sketch For Survival[6], an art competition depicting at-risk species and landscapes. Complimented by an Invitational Collection of art donated by professional artists, the Sketch For Survival Competition received over 3,000 entries in 2022 from nearly 100 countries worldwide. It is displayed in Edinburgh and London before being auctioned online. In 2022 it was also displayed at The Explorers Club in New York.
Its Patrons are Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Colonel John Blashford-Snell, Levison Wood,[7] Pip Stewart and Benedict Allen.
