Clashes around Zujince started in early october 1999[1],when Albanian Militiants Entered Zujince and started ambushing Yugoslav Police.It lasted from October 3rd 1999,to November 21st 1999.It resulted into an Yugoslav victory after police ambushed a group of 35 Armed Albanian Militiants and Killed them,the Head of the attack was later (after end of the war) sent to Hague National Court and sentenced for Massacres during Insurgency in the Preševo Valley.Remaining Albanian Militiants deserted the area,left most of their supplies and fleed to Albania.[2]

Background

This was 5 months after start of the Insurgency,Albanian Militiants have already done various Attacks on Yugoslav Police during the insurgency.Many people got killed,crimes were done and every single day there was a shootout.There was no peace at all.FR Yugoslavia first wanted to sort things out in a peacefull way,wanting a peace agreement,but the Liberation army of Preševo Medvedja and Bujanovac did not approve of that and started attacking Cities in the Preševo Valley.And then they got to Zujince.

Attack

The attack had 3 phases: 1.Raid the 3 police patrols that were supposed to go through Zujince.

2.Capture the Towns Police Station.

3. Capture all of the town. It was all going well for the Albanian Militiants,until one Unit from the Police conducted an Ambush Operation on A militiant group driving to the Police station,to finish the phase 2.They raided their cars and captured 35 soldiers,and ended their lives in an execution next to a Graveyard.Their bodies were burried in unknown locations.
