CineLux Theatres is a second-generation family owned and operated American movie theater chain with locations mainly in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was established in 1966 and is owned and operated by the Gunsky family.[1] The company currently operates 8 theatres throughout Northern California.
Jack Gunsky, founder and former president of CineLux Theatres, opened his first movie theatre in 1966, the Plaza theatre. It is located in Campbell, California and is still operating today. Jack's son, Paul, took over as president of CineLux Theatres in the early 2000s. Paul is still serving to this day. His son, Christopher, is currently the Area Manager.
In 2023, the chain introduced their loyalty program, My CineLux Rewards.
