Lekan Akinsoji (born 1997/1998), known professionally as CB, is a British rapper. CB released his debut single "Take That Risk" in 2017. In 2019 CB was sentenced to 23 years in jail, alongside 3 others;[2] following this, he released his debut album A Drillers Perspective.

2016—2019: Early years and A Drillers Perspective edit

CB released his debut single "Take That Risk" in 2017.[3] In 2018, he appeared on Mixtape Madness's Mad About Bars freestyle series.[4]

He released his debut album A Drillers Perspective in 2019 while in prison; James Keith, writing for Complex, wrote that the album will be "likely the last we'll hear from the East London rapper for a while".[5] GRM Daily wrote that A Drillers Perspective was noted as "one of the most iconic drill projects".[6]

2019—2022: A Drillers Perspective 2 edit

In 2020, CB appeared on Fumez the Engineer's Plugged In freestyle series.[7] He would release "No Lies Freestyle" in 2021 and "Rap or Road" in early 2022.[8][9]

In July 2022, CB released A Drillers Perspective 2, which included features from M24, Kwengface and others.[10]

Legal issues edit

In 2018, Akinsoji was charged with 3 counts of attempted murder, possession of a shotgun, two counts of possession of a knife and possession of a firearm following a suspended sentence, after a car chase in Leytonstone resulted in a gun fight between the occupants of the car and armed police.[11][12] He was found guilty of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to commit grevious bodily harm with intent in 2019, and was sentenced to 23 years in jail plus three years on extended license.[13][14]
