Arbortext (Software) edit

Arbortext is a set of products by PTC for creating, managing, and delivering technical publications and Parts Catalogs.[1]

Arbortext was established in 1982 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and focused on Tex-based tools for typesetting services.[2] The Adept series of products for Authoring and publishing SGML document sets (Adept Editor, Publisher, Document Architect) were released in 1991. These products were later extended to work for both SGML and XML[3], and later renamed with the Arbortext brand.

In 2005, Arbortext was acquired by PTC.[4]

Arbortext products are widely used for technical documentation.[5] The current Arbortext product set includes:

  • Arbortext Editor
  • Arbortext Styler
  • Arbortext Publishing Engine
  • Arbortext Layout Designer and Layout Editor
  • Arbortext Content Delivery
  • Arbortext IsoDraw
  • Arbortext Web Editor and Web Reviewer
