Alina Dumitrașcu (Romanian pronunciation: [aˈlina duˈmiträʃku]) (born 21 July 1976, in Bucharest, Romania) is a lawyer, writer, and women’s rights empowerment supporter.[1] She is included in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist.[2]
Alina Dumitrașcu was born in Bucharest, Romania and gained an interest in the profession of law from early in her childhood. She attended a computer science high school, due to familial pressure, before graduating the Nicolae Titulescu University in 1999, with a bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Law. She would actively continue her post-graduation education receiving a variety of master’s degrees and a PhD in law. She works at PPC, nowadays, as Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs Romania.
Alina has also founded and contributed to many activist organizations, focusing on women’s rights, law-awareness in children, equality and sustainability. She founded Smartastic Lab, a non-profit organization with the goal of offering children the inspiration to find their own path in life without fear and hesitation.[3] Among other works, she also wrote the children’s book “What is the Constitution? Play and find out!”, the first Romanian children’s book to explain the constitution.

Alina Dumitrașcu was born on the 21st of July 1976, in Bucharest, where she lived most of her life. She was born as the first child of her parents, later getting a brother.
Dumitrașcu showed an interest in the legal profession since young childhood. Her interest particularly flourished when she befriended a neighboring young woman who had similarly chosen a career in the law and gifted her a book.[4]
She later married and had one son, Sasha, who has shown to be an inspiration for Alina in her work and whom she described as “the miracle of my [her] life”.[4] Between 2019 and 2021, Dumitrașcu temporarily lived in Rome, Italy with her son.[1]

She worked as a private lawyer for a short time before moving to work for ANRE , for just under eight years. She has since worked at ENEL, whose Romanian sector has been purchased by PPC, at which Alina works nowadays, as Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs Romania.[1] Between 2019 and 2021, Alina moved to Rome, Italy where she held a global position in ENEL.
