Alaska, the American Child is a documentary by American singer John Denver.[1] The filmed was funded heavily by John Denver but received some assistance from ABC.[1] The film was designed to gather support in the US Congress for H-39, which would have classified 95 million acres of federal-owned in Alaska land as parks and wildlife refuges.[1]
In the documentary, he travels through the State, showcasing its natural beauty, and the people who call Alaska home, including Alaska Natives and bush pilots. He starts the documentary off, and ends it, with the song American Child.
