Draft:AVN Corporation

  • Comment: If after four earlier declines these are the best sources that can be found, then this subject is probably not notable. But let's give it one more chance: please read and understand WP:ORGCRIT (essentially the same as WP:GNG, but somewhat stricter), so you know what sort of sources we want to see. AVN Corporation (AVN) is a research and development firm, with key focus areas in chemicals, technical engineering, custom manufacturing, and advanced software technologies.[1] AVN is headquartered in South Charleston, West Virginia, at the West Virginia Regional Technology Park,[2] and has approximately 100 employees.

History edit

Mid-Atlantic Technology Research & Innovation Center (MATRIC)[3] was founded in 2003[3] by Dr. George E. Keller,[4] subsequent to the Dow Chemical Company's move of its R&D activities out of West Virginia. [5] MATRIC's laboratory operations began in 2005, in the former Dow Technical Center, and pilot plant operations followed suit in 2010. On February 1, 2013, Steven B. Hedrick became MATRIC's President and Chief Executive Officer.[6] AVN communicated its intention to acquire MATRIC on December 7, 2022,[7] and on January 1, 2023,[8] MATRIC's assets and operations were transferred to establish AVN Corporation. Through the acquisition, AVN received MATRIC's technology, patents, and facilities.[9] AVN Corporation is now an employee-owned, for-profit company.

Awards and Success edit

The Department of Commerce named AVN Corporation a sub-awardee of the RACER grant in March 2022.[10] The grant established the National Center of Excellence[11] for chemical process design. In 2023, AVN's Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Jack Dever, received the Lawrence B. Evans Award[12] in Chemical Engineering Practice from The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).[13]
