AEA Ribbon Microphones, Inc is an American audio equipment manufacturing company specializing in ribbon microphones based in Pasadena, California.

AEA (Audio Engineering Associates) was established by Wes Dooley.[1] in 1965 as a record label[2] . Starting in 1976, AEA began repairing and servicing RCA 44BX ribbon microphones[3] before manufacturing and distributing the R44C microphone under the AEA brand in 1998[4].
The bi-directional figure-of-eight R84 was designed for the modern studio in 2003[5], and the Nuvo series launched in 2014[6]
Apart from microphones, AEA has also developed a range of preamplifiers, including the AEA TRP and RPQ series[7].
