The 1st IKF World Beach Korfball Championship was organized in August 2022 in Nador, Morocco. The event was first scheduled to take place in the summer 2021, but following the COVID-19 restrictions, the International Korfball Federation decided to postpone the organisation.[2][3][4]

In total 13 countries from 4 continents enlisted to participate in the Championship[5]. The team from Cameroon did not start in the competition due to last minute visa issues.[citation needed]

It was the first appearance at an official International Beach Korfball Tournament for India and USA[6]

Group stage edit

Competing countries will be divided into 2 groups of seven teams (groups A to B). Teams in each group played one another in a round-robin basis, with the top four teams of each group advancing to the knockout stage.[7]
