Chaleshtar (Persian: چالشتر, also Romanized as Chaleshtor, Chāleshtor and Chāl Shotor)[3] was a village in, and the former capital of, Howmeh Rural District of the Central District of Shahrekord County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran.[4] The rural district is administered from the city of Nafech.[5] The area is Luri being prominent heritage language and a minority of Azeri speakers.[citation needed]

At the 2006 census, its population was 6,720 in 1,680 households.[6] The village did not appear in the following two censuses.[7][2]
