Central District (Khorramshahr County)

The Central District of Khorramshahr County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان خرمشهر) is in Khuzestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Khorramshahr.[3]

At the National Census in 2006, its population was 147,642 in 31,001 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 155,434 people in 40,048 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 161,820 inhabitants in 44,829 households.[2]

After the census, the former Kut-e Sheykh district of the city of Khorramshahr was elevated to the status of the city of Moqavemat.[6]
