One suggestion: OpenSource software? Considering that Wikipedia is built on it, and the OpenInformation of Wikipedia is a direct outgrowth, seems like a good idea to me...

Hi guys.

I'm new to this category stuff, I would like to propose creating a Security software category and move the following categories that currently exist to subcategories under it.

I will also create other sub-catgories like Category:rootkit_scanner or Category:HIPS etc.

I think this is a more logical arrangement particularly for people looking for security software in general to secure their computers. As it stands now, it is kind of disorganised, see for example the way the Category:Antivirus_software points to Category:Firewall_software in see also but does not mention the spyware removal section.

Or the fact that the spyware removal section has links to security software that don't really do spyware removal at all but are classed there because it seems the closest. For example bugoff definitely doesn't remove spyware but it hardens the systems.

Looks like it now exists at Category:Computer security software Cander0000 (talk) 00:49, 22 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Consistency throughout Wikipedia edit

I don't know where else to bring this up, so I mentioned it here. Regarding version histories, I propose that all Articles on software applications, throughout Wikipedia, should display version histories in color-coded tables. The version history displayed in the Article on DreamWeaver has just such a table, and it's very helpful for any information on the history of the application. Thus, I propose that all other software application Articles should copy the DreamWeaver Article in this regard. Are there any other thoughts on the matter?
