Worth developing - estimates suggest there are over 1.500.000 not for profits in the EU edit
Hi I'm based in Brussels because of these EU and International institutions here. The big challenge for them and fund providers is that there are too many too small not for profits all begging/applying for the same grants and it is really challenging for them to estimate what not for profit is able to deliver. There is a BIG need for not for profit management understanding merger and partnership techniques. An article on this topic would be very worthwhile. I have no figures about EU Estimates, so based myself on the number of USA non-profits[1]. I know there are initiatives to set-up a database for not-for profit funding organisations at EU level to allow a much higher matching quality, so that groups with money get better projects and spend less time sifting through low quality applications and visa versa, that teams in need of funding waste less time trying to understand who really has money for them and who not.One such initiatives is http://www.efc.be/ = European Foundation Centre. Unfortunately they have a very hard time to convince foundations to adhere. I advised them to apply for an EU Funding to set-up a partner matching database, but they didn't reply. --SvenAERTS (talk) 11:52, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
