Ursula Vernon? Really? edit

I know Ursula does a lot of anthro-art, and attends the cons, but she doesn't identify as a furry and has even parodied the idea of her having an "animal soul" in her art. I'm not sure she's suited for this list. 83.70.170.48 (talk) 14:09, 20 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

It's best to think of this list as "notable people directly involved with furry fandom". It is not necessary to believe you have an animal soul (you're thinking of therianthropy) or to have a fursona to be involved with the fandom. Ursula's work is published and reviewed by furry groups; she has attended two of the top three furry conventions as a guest of honor (twice each), and regularly attends the third as a regular dealer. In fact, I happened to be at Further Confusion 2013 - let me quote to you part of her own introduction in the "meet the guest of honor" panel:

I do furry art, I go to furry conventions . . . I love you people, man.

Obviously, furry fandom is not all she does, but she was drawing furry art before she knew it was a thing:

Q: How did you get into the fandom? U: I'd been drawing for ages, and you remember Yerf, I thought "it's cool, there's a name for these things". I was painting and people said "have you been to a con, ... you should come". I got a dealers' table, there was an element of couching behind a table - a fox comes up and was talking to me and I said "uh huh, I gotta ask, how are you not sweltering under there?" - "Yeah, it is very hot." OK, it's cool, it's talking to me, nothing has exploded, and I made a lot of money for a college student, and it kinda went on from there.
