Carrie L. Ruud (/ruːd/ ROOD; born February 22, 1952) is a Minnesota politician and member of the Minnesota Senate from 2003-2007, and again from 2013-2022. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, she represented District 10 in north-central Minnesota.

Early life edit
Ruud was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota and raised in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.[1]
Minnesota Senate edit
Ruud was first elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2003. She was defeated by Mary Olson in the 2006 election. She ran and was elected again in 2012.[2] She did not run for re-election in 2022.
Personal life edit
Ruud is married to Dick Rostad. They have five children and reside in Breezy Point, Minnesota, where Ruud served as mayor from 2001 to 2002.[1][2]
