Aygül Berivan Aslan (born October 16, 1981, in Kulu, Turkey)[1] is a Kurdish-Austrian politician and a member of the Austrian Green Party. She was a member of the National Council from 2013 to 2017.[1]
In 2020, a man named Feyyaz Öztürk claimed that Turkish intelligence officials had blackmailed him and ordered him to assassinate Aslan.[2][3]

British newspaper The Telegraph claimed that Öztürk had been tasked by Ankara to "ensure [Aslan] was hurt or died", so that "other politicians get the message". Öztürk also claimed that Turkish intelligence officials had blackmailed him in order to force him to carry out Alsan's assassination.

When Mr. Ozturk turned himself in on Sept. 15, he told the police that he was retired from a long career at the Turkish intelligence agency, known as the M.I.T., but had recently been tasked to carry out an attack on Aygul Berivan Aslan, a former Green Party lawmaker of Kurdish descent and a vocal Erdogan critic.
