The Albright Stonebridge Group is a global strategy company led by former United States Secretary of State in the Clinton administration Madeleine Albright and former National Security Advisor Samuel Berger. The firm is headquartered in Washington, D.C. with offices or staff in Beijing, Shanghai, São Paulo, New Delhi, Madrid, Berlin, Sydney, Thailand and Moscow.[1] The Albright Group LLC and Stonebridge International, each founded in 2001, merged in 2009. The firm's managing board currently consists of Albright and Berger, along with James C. O'Brien, Suzanne A. George, H.P. Goldfield, Anthony S. Harrington, Michael J. Warren, and Alan Fleischmann.[2]
Albright Stonebridge Group has worked in 65 countries on six continents. The company advises multinational firms, financial institutions, and non-profit organizations on corporate strategy, market-entry and regulatory approaches, government relations, investment assistance, and dispute resolution.[3] Many executives at the firm served in senior government roles including, at the White House; Departments of State, Treasury and Commerce; Office of the U.S. Trade Representative; in the U.S. Congress; as Ambassadors from and to the U.S; and at the World Bank Group.[4]
Albright Stonebridge Group has strategic partners with several firms, among them Hogan Lovells U.S. LLP, an international law firm based in Washington D.C., Palacio y Asociados, based in Madrid, Joschka Fischer & Company, based in Berlin, and Bespoke Approach, based in Australia.[5]
Albright Stonebridge Group is affiliated with Albright Capital Management, an emerging markets investment firm founded in 2005. Albright Stonebridge Group is a significant shareholder of Albright Capital Management.[6]

Albright Group
The Albright Group was an international strategy consulting firm founded in 2001 by Madeleine Albright and based in Washington, D.C.[7][8]
The firm assisted businesses and other organizations with operating internationally, including the challenges of complying with environmental regulations and climate change. Coca-Cola and Merck were among its clients.[9] It also completed research in support of foreign investment goals, and sought to form public-private partnerships in Western Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.[8] The firm attracted attention in 2006 when it operated on behalf of Dubai Ports World during its controversial attempt to acquire business in key U.S. ports.[9] Among the Albright Group's largest clients was Marsh & McLennan Companies, whose CEO stated that "the access that Madeleine Albright gives Marsh through her global contacts is unprecedented."[10] The firm did not consider itself a lobbying group.[11]
Other key founding members of the Albright Group included two other past Clinton administration figures, former EPA Administrator Carol Browner,[9] and former State Department negotiator Wendy Sherman.[12] In 2008, former Foreign Minister of Germany Joschka Fischer joined as senior strategic counsel and former World Bank economist and U.S. government official Harry Broadman joined as managing director.[13] The additions were made with the goal of improving the firm's European Union connections and trade expertise.[13] Browner left the group when she became director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy in the Obama administration.
Affiliated with the Albright Group was Albright Capital Management, which was founded in 2005 to engage in private fund management.[10] Through 2006 it managed $150 million, and then in early 2007 it was given $329 million to invest in a range of emerging markets on behalf of the large Dutch pension fund PGGM.[10] A PGGM portfolio manager said that Albright "sees a need for investing to create a middle class ... There was an ideological background for Secretary Albright to get involved in this."[10] Its principals were largely those of Albright Group and included Albright, Browner, Fischer, and Sherman.[14]
Stonebridge International
Stonebridge International was an international advisory firm that helped businesses get a foothold in emerging countries such as Brazil, the People's Republic of China, Russia and India. The firm was co-founded in 2001 by Sandy Berger, and headquartered in Washington, DC.
As of early 2009, Stonebridge's Board of Advisors were former Citigroup chairman and CEO Charles Prince, Roger Altman (Deputy Treasury Secretary from 1993-1995 in the Clinton Administration), former Congressional Representative Lee H. Hamilton, president and chief executive officer of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Thomas Donohue, president and CEO of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, Craig Fuller, chairman and CEO of Somerset & Company Richard Trutanic, and former president of Mexico, Ernesto Zedillo.
Its executive leadership included Sandy Berger, Charles Price, Warren Rudman, co-founder and former ambassador to Brazil, Anthony Harrington, former Ford and Reagan official, H.P. Goldfield, and former executive director of the White House National Economic Council, Michael Warren, and former United States Foreign Affairs Committee staff director Alan Fleischmann.
