Politics edit

After becoming a prosperous businessman, he entered politics and served as mayor during the late 1800s. He was based in what is today Velimirovac.[4]

Family edit

Oster’s daughter Theresa married Jakób Rettinger, and they emigrated to Detroit together with their children in 1914, fearing the outbreak of war after the Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Bosnia.

Jacob and Theresa’s son-in-law was Albert Louton and their maternal grandson is Edgar Louton, both of whom have been noted missionaries.

Oster’s maternal grandson was named Adam Rettinger in his honor and died when a small plane crashed into his fishing boat on the Detroit River.[5]
