Éxodo is the upcoming fourth studio album by Mexican singer Peso Pluma, which is set to release in 20 June 2024. It will succeed his third studio album Génesis, which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and will contain songs in different music genres apart from regional Mexican music.

Originally promoted through the announcement of its accompanying tour, the album was revealed during an interview with Rolling Stone, where he also became the first Mexican artist to be on their front cover. "Peso Completo" with Arcángel, as well as "La Durango" with Eslabon Armado and Junior H, will serve as singles from the album and are currently the only confirmed collaborations within it.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, where he also became the first regional Mexican artist to be on the cover of their magazine, he talked about winning his first Grammy for his successful album Génesis and revealed his next album title while regarding the rumors about his breakup with Nicki Nicole, to which he did not want to talk about.[1][2]

At the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Peso Pluma won the awards for Regional Mexican Song (for "Ella Baila Sola" with Eslabon Armado) and Regional Mexican Artist of the Year and would also confirm that Éxodo would be released in May 2024.[3] It was later confirmed that Pluma signed with Creative Artists Agency, where he is set to distribute the album from.[4] Through another teaser, the singer would officially announce the album's release date, 20 June 2024.[5]

Concept edit

Regarding Éxodo, he explained to Rolling Stone that his third album Génesis showed his "superhero side", but will show "his dark side" in Éxodo, and will also explore different musical genres, apart from regional Mexican music, and that it is a direct response to critics who "focus more on the negatives than the positives".[6][7]

Promotion edit

Peso Pluma would announce his second headlining and the album's accompanying tour of the same name on February 2024, which is set to have an "all-new show, inclusive of a fully reimagined set design and setlist."[8]

Singles edit

"Peso Completo" with American rapper Arcángel would be released on 11 April 2024, as a single from Éxodo.[9] Both singers performed the song at the 2024 Latin American Music Awards and it peaked at number 42 on US Hot Latin Songs.[10][11]

"La Durango" with Eslabon Armado and Junior H was released on on 9 May 2024 as another single from the album.[12] The single was also announced along with the album and its music video features Irish professional mixed martial artist Conor McGregor.[13][14]
