tired of fake news and hoaxes ?

somewhere in the depths of time peter did the most amazing appraisal of spurious archaeological ideas - amazing article !! JarrahTree 00:32, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

@JarrahTree: This is too enigmatic for me. Would you mind clarifying "peter" and why it would be helpful for me to understand what you mean? Oronsay (talk) 00:43, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
ok - sorry - you were just editing Peter Hiscock's article - and it reminded me of his article about where things are re-adjusted in terms of alternative news and things - viz Hiscock, Peter (2003-09-30), The New Age of alternative archaeology in Australia, retrieved 15 May 2020 - I think there is also Hiscock, Peter (2015-12-10), Cinema, Supernatural Archaeology, and the Hidden Human Past, Brill Academic Publishers, retrieved 15 May 2020 - all you were doing was adding a link to another person in his article - apologies if this a little left field... JarrahTree 00:51, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
Aha! Mystery solved! As you say, I was only creating a link from his bio to Lynley Wallis who had cropped up in today's User:AlexNewArtBot/AustraliaSearchResult which I visit and work on every day. I go through that list, linking to Wikidata etc followed by the User:AlexNewArtBot/WomensHistorySearchResult‎ which turns up about an hour later to keep me busy. And I'm also watching this week's #WikipediaWeekly at the moment - it's on my subject: Creating women's bios! Oronsay (talk) 01:03, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
wow! we used to have editors who dedicatedly checked all unknown importance/unassessed/new art bot locations with religious dedication - it is a great relief and very good to know that someone is doing that again - a very good indicator we have people understanding that maintenance is as important as all else, even if a little out of most editors scope or vision - thank you for that, and your understanding of my thing about peter (I used to know him in darwin - that is going back a few weeks ago) JarrahTree 01:55, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

JarrahTree I don't look at every single new Oz article. I usually skip the lists, entertainment etc and focus on people and places, plus see if biota is linked to Wikidata and add Taxonbars where missing - a particular obsession of mine at present in the greater world of Wikipedia. Oronsay (talk) 02:02, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

that is even more appreciated - the year plus effort to check the biota material for importance and brief look at everything else really showed the massive nature of trying to deal with the biota scope and the amazing amount of work not yet done - so many either have totally meaningless data entries ( a rock in the desert of australia or something of similar ilk) or total lack of identification of occurrence ... If only the editor rate wasnt dropping off (regular eds of oz project) - there is so much more to do... JarrahTree 02:07, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

Taxonbar parameters

Hi, it's good to add taxonbars to organism articles, but could you please include the from parameter or parameters, e.g. as I have done at Birupes. Peter coxhead (talk) 07:07, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
