How to add hidden editor notes in an article

Have you ever needed to post an important message to all editors about an article, on the article itself, but thought it would stick out like a sore thumb and ruin the article if you did? Are you reverting many edits on an article because editors just aren't seeing the important message or special instructions on the talk page?

The solution is that you can insert hidden text in the article! That way, only the people editing the page will see your message! Here is how to insert a hidden comment:

1. First, begin the comment by typing <!--
2. Once you have done that, type what you need the editors to read
3. Then, end the comment by typing -->

Once you have completed those 3 easy steps, you won't be reverting as many mistakes!

For example, the following hidden comment has been used in the Meaning of life article, in the Popular views section:

<!--Please do not add 42 in this section. It is covered under the section titled "Popular culture treatments". Thank you.-->

A question about vandalism

Let's say I think of a way to vandalise an article I find funny. Is there a way I could publish it in a good and safe way (see below for my thoughts on this)?

I used to plan to do it and undo it right after that. I even tried it once, although it happened to be something rather hard to undo and even harder to completely get rid of bad effects. However, now I realise that that may lead to bans if the rules don't care about immediate reversion. Maybe putting it on the talk page would be good, but I'm not sure. Good day Orisphera 2, I believe you find me via CVUA page which mentioned by Joseywales1961. First of all, Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia and not a social media site for info added/changed in the article needs to be supported by independent, reliable source for verification by the editor who makes the edit. So if you vandalize Wikipedia articles/pages, you will be warned and lead up to a block or ban in regardless of your reasons to do so. All edits are recorded permanently in Wikipedia and always can be viewed by anyone. I am surprised you would write to me to seek my advice if there is a way to vandalize Wikipedia that can go little notice even after you have been told you will be blocked if you continuing to do so. The answer is NO. If your intention is to vandalize Wikipedia for your own amusement, then I suggest you to stop editing immediately for you are not here to contribute to the project but instead have the intention to harm it. My intention isn't to vandalise Wikipedia for my own amusement, but one of my intentions is to share some interesting ways it can be, without it ending up on the shown version for more than the minimum time needed for me to make and undo it. Recent changes

• On Wikisource there is a special page listing pages of works without corresponding scan images. Now you can use the new magic word __EXPECTWITHOUTSCANS__ to exclude certain pages (list of editions or translations of works) from that list. [1]
• If you use the user-preference "Show preview without reloading the page", then the template-page feature "Preview page with this template (what's this?)" will now also work without reloading the page. [2]
• Kartographer maps can now specify an alternative text via the alt= attribute. This is identical in usage to the alt= attribute in the image and gallery syntax. An exception for this feature is wikis like Wikivoyage where the miniature maps are interactive. [3]
• The old Guided Tour for the "New Filters for Edit Review" feature has been removed. It was created in 2017 to show people with older accounts how the interface had changed, and has now been seen by most of the intended people. [4]

Changes later this week

• The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 14 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 15 May. It will be on all wikis from 16 May (calendar). [5][6]
• The Special:Search results page will now use CSS flex attributes, for better accessibility, instead of a table. If you have a gadget or script that adjusts search results, you should update your script to the new HTML structure. [7]

Future changes

• In the Vector 2022 skin, main pages will be displayed at full width (like special pages). The goal is to keep the number of characters per line large enough. This is related to the coming changes to typography in Vector 2022. Learn more. [8]
• Two columns of the pagelinks database table (pl_namespace and pl_title) are being dropped soon. Users must use two columns of the new linktarget table instead (lt_namespace and lt_title). In your existing SQL queries:
  1. Replace JOIN pagelinks with JOIN linktarget and pl_ with lt_ in the ON statement
  2. Below that add JOIN pagelinks ON lt_id = pl_target_id

Altberry6, Thank you for the quick reply. First of all, for a subject to have a page/article in Wikipedia, the subject need to pass/meet WP:GNG or WP:MUSICBIO criteria. This means the subject needs to have significant coverage by independent, reliable sources, such as from the major newspapers or books, (all social medias, official websites are considered not reliable or independent and Wikipedia can NOT be the source) whereby the subject is talk about in length and in depth and not passing mentioned. Your draft page does not meet the criteria to have a page in Wikipedia at the moment. Secondly, you have conflict of interest to write the article since you are the subject yourself. Finally, the content of the any article in Wikipedia needs to meet neutral point of view and not promote the subject which is a huge violation of Wikipedia guidelines as Wikipedia is an encolpia and not a social platform.
