The Driftwood Wildlife Association (DWA) is a non-profit 501(c)3, all volunteer organization dedicated to promoting research and providing education in wildlife rehabilitation and avian natural history. A significant part of DWA activity centers around the Chimney Swift.

To encourage citizen scientists to help collect data on Chimney Swift and Vax's Swift roosts, the DWA created a program to encourage people to locate and count swifts entering roosts at dusk. [2]

Chaetura Canyon is a small bird sanctuary and wildlife preserve near Austin, Texas.[3] It is surrounded by residential developments of suburban Austin. The sanctuary is jointly managed by the Travis Audubon Society and the Driftwood Wildlife Association.
