This chart is outdated, there are no more direct flights from IKA to Caracas!

2008 protests

Does anyone know sources confirming this information? I've found nothing either on Google News and general search too. Emesik (talk) 20:42, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't know of any sources, either. I believe this section needs to be removed or cleaned up Raminarya (talk) 17:32, 10 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unconfirmed Airlines

edit

there has been alot of preliminary edits from unregistered users without providing sources. Please provide sources on any airlines making scheduled or seasonal stops at IKIA. thanks.

Incorrect information

edit

I changed the name of the airport from 'Metropol International Airport" back to the airport's official name "Imam Khomeini International Airport" unless someone can provide a source saying the airport was renamed to Metropol. Also, the IATA airport was changed to MIA as that is the code for Miami International Airport in Miami, Florida, United States. The code for this airport is IKA unless 2 airports can have the same IATA code that i don't know about. Thanks! Snoozlepet (talk) 05:46, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Resumed destinations?

edit

Hello!

Saw that KLM and AirAsia X have been added. Is it true? Any sources? Thanks!

(Hope it's true ;) ) — Preceding unsigned comment added by AminC99 (talkcontribs) 17:00, 9 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

As at 30 July 2014 they do not have any flights listed to Tehran. http://www.tehrantimes.com/economy-and-business/113969-air-asia-plans-to-restart-flights-to-iran- This article suggests flights were going to be resumed at the end of March 14, but there is no indication as yet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.185.180.69 (talk) 08:17, 30 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thai, KLM, Iran Air and Taban Air

edit

There has been massive edit warring regarding the addition of these services to the article. Sources give a date but it states that it is a planned service and it is not confirmed. However, airlineroute.net states the service to IKA shows the schedule and has a exact date (1 October 2016). I have requested protection of this article so that the IPs involved in this edit war can discuss here. TravelLover37 (talk) 18:58, 29 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

airlineroute.com adds explicitly it's a preliminary and tentative schedule hence in order to keep the page credible the service should only be included when the final and definite schedule is submitted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A03:4A80:4:19D:19D:8E7D:6286:CD6F (talk) 19:56, 29 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

KLM should be counted. Also, 2A03:4A80:4:19D:19D:8E7D:6286:CD6F , please stop removing VArna, as soon as I removed the start date and reference for it, you started to make things up. Here is the proof Varma flights exist, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Tehran_Imam_Khomeini_International_Airport&diff=728212181&oldid=728205567. Also other national media say Iran Air will start KL again.

For the nth time: Aviationiran.com is not verifiable by Wikipedia citation procedures. You need an official schedule submitted on a recognised platform OR references to credible webpages. 2A03:4A80:4:17C:17C:80F9:A378:305D (talk) 19:57, 7 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Full protected

edit

I full-protected this article yesterday for 3 days. I'm surprised there have been no comments here about any of the content. If there is no further discussion, anyone who adds or removes links to centreforaviation.com or some of the similar trivial edit wars will receive a block until there is some discussion. There has been plenty of talk on edit summaries. And there had been but one dynamic IP editor against multiple established registered editors. And that one editor has resumed. The picture is pretty clear. HkCaGu (talk) 12:29, 17 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

The wiki article on Aviation Hub states clearly that any single airport must handle majority of an airline's passengers through CONNECTION flights to become a hub. IKA clearly does not connect majority of passengers of any single airline to outgoing flights. 99 percent of passengers fly point-to-point flights to and from IKA. IKA clearly fits the explanation for a focus city for all the airlines based there. Point-to-point flight with a very few number of passengers who connect there is exactly the definition of a focus city. THE CRUCIAL PREQUISITE FOR BEING A HUB IS CONNECTING PASSENGERS BETWEEN INCOMING AND OUTGOING FLIGHTS. IKA so clearly does not do that for any single airline. 185.100.213.68 (talk) 11:01, 18 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Further to my above message, DatGuy and 185.100.213.68 have both been blocked for 48 hours after edit warring without completing a discussion here. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:37, 18 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

New scheme for International flights

edit

Look at these scheme for international flights, many airports have this style, it's easier to see the countries and cities that are served. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeropuerto_Internacional_Comodoro_Arturo_Merino_Ben%C3%ADtez#Destinos_internacionales

For IKA will be good

Does this mean BA is cancelling flights to Iran?

edit

Hi. Just saw this article pop up in my feed and it says that BA is redcuing its ika service on a seasonal basis. Does this mean that BA is reducing its IKA service to a seasonal basis or does it mean it will just reduce it for a brief period of time. In short words does it mean LHR to IKA service on BA will still be regular and scheduled, will it be seasonal or is it going to be cancelled after Feb (like we have seen with Joon, KLM, Thai and Air Astana)? 86.170.160.126 (talk) 18:16, 14 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
