Brazil in 12th??? edit

Brazil is the 1st in the world rank, as it has been for the last years. Canada?? Probably the one who did this fake was a canadian guy with a great sense of humour and a huge self-esteem.

Please, correct that!—Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.20.212.131 (talkcontribs) 18:39, 25 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Missing reference in historic leader data edit

The reference in the historic leader data for both men and women contain data from 2005 to 2017. What is the source of the data from 2017 on? Morpheus27 (talk) 19:52, 7 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Cut off points edit

In the example of the World Ranking calculation given by the FIVB they give the following values for the cut off points: C1 = -1.06, C2 = -0.394, C3 = 0, C4 = 0.394, C5 = 1.06. This article gives a diffent value for C2 / C4 (- or + 0.364)

I also noted that if I compute the World Ranking scores for Female's World Ranking, I get wrong results when applying the given values for C1..C5. I emperically determined the following cut off points for Female's World Ranking: C1 = -0.95, C2 = -0.364, C3 = 0, C4 = 0.364, C5 = 0.95.

I also would like to know where the values for the cut off points come from. Are they published somewhere? I ran a simulation of a volleyball game where two equally strength teams play against each other to find the probability of each of the three outcomes: 3-0, 3-1 and 3-2. The probablilties did not match the probabilities that I get when using the cut off points. Mmhmjanssen (talk) 12:29, 8 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
