Boris Aleksandrovich Baranov (Russian: Борис Александрович Баранов; Ukrainian: Борис Олександрович Баранов, romanized: Borys Oleksandrovych Baranov; 11 November 1940 — 6 April 2005) was an engineer who worked at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. After the Chernobyl disaster, he was one of the three men in the "suicide squad" team to drain the steam suppression pools under the fourth reactor building, thus preventing the reactor from exploding.
