Merging articles

edit

It appears you recently copied some text from Polkovnyk to Polkovnik in the process of merging multiple articles. For copyright reasons, it is important to be able to trace the origin of any text contained in a Wikipedia article; therefore, your edit summary on Polkovnik should have identified the article that you copied from, so that readers could link back to the history of the earlier article to see who contributed to it. See Wikipedia:Merging for more information. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 14:56, 9 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

What R'n'B said. Please pay attention to that. Also, if merged page has a discussion page, update project tags and link the page from the talk page of the article merged to. Thanks, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 21:11, 20 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ukrainian military ranks

edit

Your pointer at the talk page of the Military ranks of Ukraine does not really mean that they are necessary true, does it? Why don't you do more research? For example: ВІЙСЬКОВІ ЗВАННЯ ТА ВІЙСЬКОВІ РАНГИ ЗБРОЙНИХ ФОРМУВАНЬ УКРАЇНИ. Otaman ranks were introduced by the General Bulawa of the Ukrainian People's Republic. General Bulawa was a General Staff of the Ukrainian Army early in the 20th century that consisted of Otamans (Generals) who headed the former Russian Imperial Army formations usually Corps and Divisions. Among such were Otamans Bolbochan, Osetskiy, Petriv, Hryhoriev, Hrekov, and many others. On November 13, 1918 Otaman Oleksander Hrekov introduced the rank of the Chief Otaman which was given to Symon Petlyura as the commander in chief. Or maybe you thought that Petlyura is really such an idiot and lunatic that the Soviet propaganda makes out of him and who decided to name himself so? Here is another encyclopedic reference that defeats your perception of otaman rank Encyclopedia of Ukraine. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 14:53, 10 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ukrians

edit

I am not sure why you decided that these Slavic tribes which lived in the area of modern Germany are related to ukrs which Ukrainian nationalist politicians invented to be ancestors of the Ukrainians, but in any case one needs a reliable source to confirm this.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:02, 3 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
