Limburg Cathedral

edit

In general, I dislike using architectural pictures wher the verticals have been made parallel, in defiance of human vision. It destroys all sense of height, and in the case of cathedrals with two towers, makes it look as if the towers are splaying out or the facade is falling apart. If you have a copy of this image that retains some of the tapering effect of natural close-up vision, then I would be most grateful! Amandajm (talk) 01:19, 19 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Amandajm. Quite frankly, I find this a somewhat tiring discussion that has being going on for ages. I'm not quite sure if you are referring to the west facade outside image or the interior image, but I do strongly disagree about using interior images that are not corrected for perspective (especially for panoramic images with a very large FOV). I do also think that outside images should be corrected, since technical drawings etc. would also usually not show a church with uncorrected verticals. But I also know that correcting means making a compromise, but I find it to be the most realistic one. Nevertheless, I can have a look if you tell me which image I should reconsider. --DXR (talk) 07:42, 19 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
