Hi there, my name is Onyx and I'm from the United Kingdom. I love editing pages on Wikipedia to make sure they are as accurate as possible, particularly when it comes to historical context. For example, I believe that using the term "Kingdom of Romania" instead of just "Romania" may be more appropriate for individuals born in a certain time period.
I do understand that in some cases, this would be inappropriate, especially when it comes to something like the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and the SSR states for some pages. In that case, I will use the existing name instead.
Example that I think would be correct:
Spain > Spanish State (Referring to Francoist Spain, the official name is listed as Spanish State).
Romania > Kingdom of Romania (This would make more sense historically speaking).
Example where this is inappropriate:
Estonia > Estonian SSR (If there has been a talk about it on one person, assume the same applies to all people from that country).
Ireland > United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (Better to leave it as just Ireland).
I have no ill intentions when I make these changes, none at all.
As an editor, I'm extremely diligent and detail-oriented, and I take pride in ensuring that the information on Wikipedia is neutral and unbiased. If you ever come across something that seems biased or incorrect, please don't hesitate to let me know and I'll be happy to make the necessary corrections.
