request for lang preservation info

edit

A note about the effort made by Esther Martinez to preserve and record this language would be nice. -Yupik 11:09, 18 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I CANNOT FIND ANY INFORMATION ON THE TEWA LANGUAGE 72.245.80.181 (talk · contribs)

Perhaps an addition to the Revitalization section?

edit

I think that the language revitalization page could benefit from the types of documentation done on the language, particularly about the Swadesh List recorded on 2010-09-21 in the document repository held in San Fransisco California. We could include a link to the Wikipedia page for the Swadesh List, or a general explanation of what a swadesh list is like this: A Swadesh List is a list of words recorded in the language recorded in order to get the general “gist” of a language. It is normally recorded in IPA. Here is the citation for a description of the archived the swadesh list:

The Rosetta Project: A Long Now Foundation Library of Human Language (n.d.). In OLAC – Archive Details. Retrieved March 24, 2014, from http://www.language-archives.org/archive/rosettaproject.org).

Here is a link to the page where the Swadesh List can be seen that can be added to related links :

Tewa Phonology

edit

Considering the phonology is said to be describing Rio Grande Tewa putting d̠ʒ in the chart is misleading as it only occurs in the Santa Clara dialect. Along with that, any dialectical phonemes should not be in the base chart for a language and instead should be mentioned in the notes. OctoToast (talk) 16:26, 2 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
