Scarab Single engine sweeper

edit

Need a citation on the historical significance of the Scarab single engine sweeper. Group29 14:42, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

(Left this message for Mingwingming) Thanks for adding the picture of the Scarab street sweeper. The Scarab may or may not be the first single engine sweeper. There needs to be supporting material whenever there is a superlative ("The X is the Y-est Z"), and the article needs to be in a neutral point of view, not a sales pitch. Note that The Elgin Pelican is powered by a single engine, although it is not truck mounted and is not a vacuum sweeper. A certain amount of power is required to run the carriage and mechanicals. This can be done by one or two engines and gearing and hydraulics. Group29 14:54, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Elgin Pelican

edit

Is that actually supposed to be a picture of a Pelican? 66.31.6.37 (talk) 14:23, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes it is a picture of one, however as it did not "fit in" with the article, I removed it. NanohaA'sYuriTalk, My master 04:17, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Irony

edit

Anybody else see the irony of this article needing cleanup?--92.22.76.8 (talk) 15:32, 27 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Split?

edit

Should this be split into Street sweeper (vehicle) and Street sweeper (job)? Wongm (talk) 11:22, 7 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Charles Brooks

edit

Hi everyone. I came across the inventor Charles Brooks who patented an invention that improved the street sweeper. Would be grand to have his information or an area discussing his work added to the article. Here is a resource that make a good starting point. SarahStierch (talk) 22:14, 13 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

What the tag says

edit

It says "This article may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards." -- Perfect tag for an article on "Street Sweeper".--Tomwsulcer (talk) 14:48, 11 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

huh?

edit

I though they cleaned streets in Mexico with a donkey cart and a giant brush. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.104.25.153 (talk) 20:11, 16 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
