Commentated on professional wrestling for the Eurosport channel? edit

I think this is him commentating on professional wrestling for the Eurosport channel (in the early 1990's I think) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFyan2GeOrA — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.99.210.174 (talk) 11:08, 28 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Tom Jones song on SIHAC- Change? edit

I heard the I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue episode where RB sings a Tom Jones song, but I'm sure it was "Sex Bomb", not "Delilah" - anyone agree? Ben austin 85 20:03, 7 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Er, no. It was, without doubt, Delilah. I have a copy of the recording. DWaterson 11:28, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
This is because he's appeared twice now :) - on his first appearance (series before last) he sang Delilah, and on his second (last series) he sang Sex Bomb. Nick8325 19:20, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Aha, cunning! DWaterson 22:39, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

In the 25 June 2007 programme, they got him to sing "She's a Lady" by Tom Jones. It got a pretty big round of applauses. 195.137.30.238 10:06, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Port Talbot? edit

IMDB and his official website state he was born in Swansea, but brought up in Port Talbot. Should that be changed? 81.111.118.10 00:28, 31 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why not? WP:BOLD 195.137.30.238 10:07, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, we are clearly wrong here. [1] states, "Rob Brydon was born in Swansea, South Wales on 3rd May 1965. He grew up in Baglan near Port Talbot, before moving to Porthcawl where his interest in acting flourished under the guidance of Porthcawl Comprehensive School's drama teacher, Roger Burnel." The place of birth and category has been changed several times, but still seems to be incorrect. DWaterson 00:41, 22 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Audi reference edit

Is it just me or is it not particularly interesting or significant what make of car he drives? 82.110.248.146 (talk) 14:34, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Filmography and television/radio appearances edit

Why are some programmes Brydon has appeared in, in a table, and some in a list below it? Is there a distinction between the two groups that I'm missing? --Peti (me) 12:58, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Nope, just looks like sloppiness. I've marked it accordingly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.17.57.24 (talk) 22:17, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Black Books edit

According to the biog on his official site he also appeared in Black Books. No info on which episode though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.23.139.164 (talk) 07:07, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

WILTY edit

Would I Lie To You? does not represent a reliable source under wikipedia guidelines. There's no basis for inserting the piece about the lunch money, considering that the only source is a comedy gameshow.--THobern 02:25, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

My mistake, I misread the source. I thought that it was being sourced to the television show and the not the article.--THobern 02:29, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

First marriage edit

According to Ancestry.com's England Marriage Records, his first wife's name is Martina J Fitchie (which is the mother's maiden name listed for his kids also - see older version of this page where I posted those) and they appear to have been married in 1992. I can't see the full record though. Bangdrum (talk) 02:47, 19 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nationality edit

It is stated he is of Welsh nationality. He is not. He is of Welsh origin but of British nationality. There is no such thing as Welsh nationality just as there is no English nor Scottish nationality. They are all British and they are all called British citizens and are all holders of British passports. there is no such thing as Welsh nationality nor Welsh passports for that matter it should read Nationality:British , Origin: Welsh ≈≈≈≈abodabo — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abodabo (talkcontribs) 16:18, 5 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your point of view is not the general consensus--see Wikipedia:Nationality of people from the United Kingdom. In the case of Brydon, he was born and bred in Wales, and his Welshness suffuses commentary about him. Readers are better served with him listed as "Welsh". --Hobbes Goodyear (talk) 23:55, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
You think nationality is conferred by a passport? In case you hadn't looked lately: "the Welsh (Welsh: Cymry) are a nation and ethnic group native to, or otherwise associated with, Wales and the Welsh language." Looks pretty clear, unless you wish to take issue at that article? Martinevans123 (talk) 00:01, 8 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
