Community

edit

The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce, with approximately 1,200 business members represents the business communities of Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, and the greater Lake Norman region. The mission of the chamber is to promote the healthy business growth and well-being of the Lake Norman region. Along with the chamber's partner, Visit Lake Norman (formerly Lake Norman Convention & Visitors Bureau), the organizations serve as an information bureau for those who wish to relocate to the lake communities, local residents, travelers and tourists, entrepreneurs, start-up businesses, and existing business and industry. The Chamber of Commerce focuses on the quality of life, business growth and development, and public policy issues of the lake communities. Visit Lake Norman supports the hospitality industry and promotes the attractions and resources (natural & man made) of the region. Both organizations websites are featured as external links on the town’s official websites. For more information on the chamber or the Lake Norman region visit www.lakenormanchamber.org or call the chamber at 704-892-1922. The chamber and Visit Lake Norman web addresses will be added to the Wikipedia listing for the towns Usjaycee1 13:09, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nomenclature

edit

Is there a way to mark this a a college town instead of a university town? Davidson College is not a university but a college, and thus the town of Davidson is not a university town. --SQFreak 07:44, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Just a note: university town redirects to college town. It's not trying to say that it's the site of a university, but an institution of higher learning. JordeeBec 03:43, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Residents

edit

Should Stephen Curry be mentioned as a notable resident? I know that he doesn't live in Davidson anymore but he could be mentioned in the article.WikiYoung27 (talk) 23:24, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Actually, I think that something that makes this interesting is who still lives there. Besides, I'd say that there are other worthy grads from Davidson College (Me, asif), who are already listed on the Davidson College and Alumni page. Gprobins (talk) 01:41, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Geography

edit

I took out the Iredell County references -- Davidson is entirely within Mecklenberg County. Check the town map, the north edge of town follows the county line exactly: [1] Hzoi (talk) 20:59, 1 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Add Resident of Note: John Candelaria?

edit

Should John Candelaria be added?

Yes, I added him. His article has a reliable source cite that says he lives in Davidson. Thank you for that. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 22:26, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
