Talk:Chueca, Madrid

I would agree that Chueca's strong gay population are one of its key definitions, but I question it should be defined above all as a "gay village in Madrid" in the 1st phrase? How about a district in Madrid well known for its gay activity, etc?

Maybe this needs a disambiguation page with the Native American (American referring to the Americas) game of Chueca http://mazinger.sisib.uchile.cl/repositorio/lb/filosofia_y_humanidades/vitale/obras/images/gal01/Interpretaci%F3n%20Marxista/Tomo%20I/images/El%20juego%20de%20la%20Chueca.jpg which seems to be very similar to the traditional predecessor to [Lacrosse]FiReSTaRT (talk) 20:21, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

– No WP:PRIMARYTOPIC with several possible candidates, but none standing out. The area of Madrid is very small, not even an administrative ward never mind district. The area is named after a square that is named after Federico Chueca, so we can't make the argument that places are intrinsically more long-lasting than people in notability. A Google Books review for lasting references throws up a three-way tie on books about travel and LGBT (the page titled Chueca), theatre and opera (Federico Chueca) and architecture (Fernando Chueca Goitia [es]). I've never seen a first page of Google Books be so varied and this suggests there is no lasting WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Unknown Temptation (talk) 18:29, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
