In May 10 2024, one day after SANDF elements withdrew from the area, Islamic State affiliated terrorists are carrying out a major attack in the city of Macomia. They blocked access from Awasse and Pemba. Chinavane (airfield area) and Nanga have been under fire since early morning (4:00 AM), while the town has been entirely occupied by ISCAP terrorists according to civilians who have now fled into nearby forested areas.[1]
