Tildes and signatures

edit

Thanks for your contributions on the Species article. Thought I would try to save you some time in the future by explaining the use of those four tildas you're using. Those are just for signing an entry on talk pages, and even then they only go into the actual text. So putting them into an edit summary doesn't really do anything. I mean it doesn't do any harm either, but it doesn't leave a signature or do anything else that's useful. Just thought you should know. Happy editing. -- Fyrefly (talk) 18:11, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for that, most helpful. I'm afraid my contributions are very minor, but I'll try to do them properly in future. Dawright12 (talk) 20:14, 2 November 2011 (UTC) Is that OK?Reply

Eh, 99% of contributions on here are quite minor, but that doesn't mean they aren't helpful. And your edits are just fine. Your edit summaries just had a special flair to them, that's all. -- Fyrefly (talk) 14:00, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the encouragement. I confess to some trepidation when I dare to edit something on here, but hope I am gaining confidence. Thanks again. Dawright12 (talk) 18:37, 29 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thumbs up!

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
