Sexuality

edit

Mitsuya came out as gay on January 12, 2017. [1] [2] [3] Seigi Choujin (talk) 11:00, 2 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Why is this relevant? Unless they are an activist or it has been documented to affect their career, a person's sexuality isn't relevant to their biography. —Farix (t | c) 12:24, 2 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
I personally think it's relevant at least to explain the LBGT categories, but if the following answer doesn't change anything, then that's that. No bitterness, I didn't add it to cause trouble and I apologize if I have. If my answer DOES change things, then I also apologize for not just including this info in my edit in the first place. Anyway...
He was asked about it for years in interviews and panel shows and always dodged it with "I'm in the gray zone". The reason he gave for being in the closet was that his brother worked for an unnamed company and he didn't want to potentially cause him trouble, so he decided to wait until his brother's retirement. He also said something about feeling like it's easier for gay actors to continue working in Japan these days, while also saying he understands why other actors stay in the closet (his specific example for that was it might ruin the illusion if the actor was in a straight love scene).Seigi Choujin (talk) 13:26, 2 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
