Is it named for the Twinbrook district of Belfast? -FZ 23:14, 10 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

I don't know where the "Twinbrook" name came from, not being all too familiar with that part of the area. Anyone else? Schuminweb 23:30, 10 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
I believe it is because it is right next to twinbrook parkway.. google maps should help illustrate this here Denki 18:05, 9 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
OK, so what is the parkway named for? -FZ 01:36, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Origins of the name

edit

Welll, being someone who lives in Twinbrook, I think that there are two (twin) streams (brooks) in the neighborhood, hence the name Twinbrook. I've only seen one of them, though. And no, the neighborhood is not named after the street. It's the other way around.

Also, Twinbrook is not the only residential area in Rockville nor is it the only commercial area in Rockville, yet this article makes it sound like it is. Somebody might want to change that.

Yeah as someone who also lives in Twinbrook, this article fails to touch on the fact that Twinbrook is a residential area. --72.75.113.239 03:38, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Havoc737Reply

So why don't you fix it? SchuminWeb (Talk) 05:11, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

"One of the few" or "the only"?

edit

The article states: "The station is one of the few on the system to have a single escalator serving the platform, usually set to carry passengers up," then three sentences later, "Twinbrook is the only station on the Washington Metro with one escalator." Which is correct? -- BRG 18:46, 5 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Without looking, I'd guess that "only" is likely correct. SchuminWeb (Talk) 19:06, 5 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject class rating

July or December?

edit

This article states that the station opened in December, 1984. However, other articles state that its neighboring stations (on both sides) opened five months earlier. Is this accurate? If so, is there a reason the opening of Twinbrook was delayed? --Jnelson09 (talk) 17:53, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
