Don't follow what you mean ? CW

There should be a reference to an article or website that confirms that they are involved. I know they are, based on the vimeo video posted and the info on their website and I made a reference in the paragraph about CW, but you removed it. 62.63.10.18 (talk) 21:06, 25 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

A Reference is here - http://www.taittowers.com/projects/guns-n-roses - I'm not too familiar with Wiki so feel free to re insert references that aren't those of staff, all the work was done by the company and the posts by staff have been removed, the Twitter also has plenty of info too https://twitter.com/CreativeWorksLd — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.246.164.205 (talk) 15:46, 26 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, references added. :) 62.63.10.18 (talk) 18:31, 26 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Picture in infobox

edit

Would it be possible to get a picture at the top in the infobox that represents the whole tour, instead of the poster of the Troubadour show? I am thinking of this one: http://static.musictoday.com/store/bands/1226/product_large/BGAPGR07.jpg 62.63.4.45 (talk) 16:46, 3 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

If used, I think the argument for fair use can be used, such as they did here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:U2-360-tour-logo.png 62.63.4.45 (talk) 17:16, 3 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Was that an official poster? I've scoured everywhere trying to find an actual non city-specific tour poster but couldn't find a good quality version of one. They have one that they sold at shows but I couldn't find a good picture or scan of it.RF23 (talk) 05:33, 15 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
I think the one being used in the article now is the most convenient one. The graphics are from the official tour program, it's being used on the official merchandise truck, and is currently being used for the promotion of legs 3, 4 and 5 of the tour. The words "Not in This Lifetime" are included, which is a must for the picture being used for the purpose of describing the tour, in my opinion.GNR fan83 (talk) 23:43, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Tour legs

edit

How should we divide legs for the tour? I suggest obvious date gaps should be the trigger. With rumors of New Zealand dates on February 2 and 4, I think it's natural to lump leg 4 and 5 together into a new leg 4 called "Asia/Oceania".GNR fan83 (talk) 02:24, 21 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Nominate the article for higher class?

edit

Could it be an idea to nominate this article for a higher class? I think it warrants being higher than "start". It could be argued the importance should be upgraded as well, this tour is quickly shaping up to be in the top 5 all-time highest grossing tours (bare in mind the revenue numbers in the article hasn't been updated further than Aug 22, so with the next legs in mind as well we're looking at numbers up to $4-500 million). A nomination would also help us further improve the article by getting notes.178.74.37.182 (talk) 19:23, 29 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Source material for the box-office numbers used in the "Tour dates" table

edit

I often see people edit in numbers from the concerts sourced in Pollstar. They are official numbers, but since all previous numbers used in the table are based on Billboard, the consistency is lost. Billboard and Pollstar often reports slightly different numbers, and if we mix them, the total's accuracy will be lost. 62.63.4.45 (talk) 23:36, 16 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

    1. After the concert in Ireland, the song would remain in their set as a regular for all subsequent shows.
    2. The band's show on November 29, 2017 in Los Angeles was 3 hours and 53 minutes long, their longest concert ever.
    3. Wolfmother opened their first show on the tour on July 12 in Pittsburgh, and would continue to appear as a supporting act throughout the tour. The singer, Andrew Stockdale, has a past working relationship with Slash, appearing on the 2010 single "By The Sword" from Slash’s first solo album.
    4. The eighth leg of the tour did not feature any opening acts, allowing the band to play earlier.
    5. "Welcome to the Jungle", "Live and Let Die", "Better", "November Rain" and "Paradise City" amongst a few more.
@Iazyges:The above mentioned remarks should now be sorted out. #3 under "dead links" seem to be live. 62.63.4.45 (talk) 01:34, 8 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Prose Suggestions

Please note that all of these are suggestions, and can be implemented or ignored at your discretion.

  • However, after the tour ended, no official word on the situation was given, neither from Guns N' Roses nor Thal himself. suggest deleting the neither
  • Additional legs of the tour were announced throughout the year, including a Latin American leg and a leg covering Asia and Oceania suggest Additional legs of the tour were announced throughout the year, including Latin American, Asian, and Oceanian legs.
  • @62.63.4.45: That is all my suggestions, passing now. -- Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 21:30, 28 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Context

edit

So much missing context. Axl got his shit together working with AC/DC and the people behind AC/DC started being the people behind Guns and Roses, forcing Axl to keep his shit together. I'm sure there's even more context I'm missing. One quote "they didn't want to split the loot equally" tells you more than the whole rest of the article. My point is, this article is a start but there is a whole lot more missing than there is actually included, and it takes far too much reading between the lines. -- 109.76.192.138 (talk) 01:35, 13 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
