Talk:List of universities and colleges in South Korea

There's more where these came from

edit

I trust and hope there are no objections to the universities --> colleges and universities rename. There were a couple of colleges on the list before, and it seemed more sensible to keep a single list rather than having a separate list of colleges (although the college/university distinction is more important in SK than in, for example, the US). Anyway, although I've added a few, there are more that could be listed. The current list is drawn from the list I compiled for the Open Directory Project, and therefore only includes those institutions that have recently had English-language websites, in addition to those that were already on the list. I would venture that the list could be doubled in length (at least). -- Visviva 04:38, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Accuracy and Completeness

edit

1. I wonder if University of King Kamata Omaga is real. I have tried searching on the internet, and only get its name in lists. That seems suspiciously like web-spread. In addition, I couldn't find any reference to a King Kamata Omaga (and the name does not sound Korean to me). 2. As of 2005, there were 385 universities in Korea, according to http://kin.naver.com/qna/detail.nhn?d1id=11&dirId=110812&docId=55232206&qb=S29yZWEgdW5pdmVyc2l0aWVzIHJlc3RydWN0dXJpbmcgYXByaWwgMjg=&enc=utf8&section=kin&rank=1&search_sort=0&spq=0&pid=R0ocYwpySowssbfkRAlssssssth-281451&sid=U0oHiwpyVmQAADF3idE. 211.225.33.104 (talk) 03:56, 13 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Factual accuracy

edit

The list contains several, possibly many, universities in every part of the world but South Korea; e.g. Ghent University, George Mason University and University of Utah. A vandal may have been at work. Narky Blert (talk) 14:51, 10 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

University of Utah does actually have a campus in Incheon, so it is technically not false. I am in process in fixing the Ghent University and George Mason University info as well TXephy (talk) 14:32, 25 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
