Rick Blatter's electoral platform

edit

Mr. Blatter seems to be attempting to turn this into a website about HIM. I reverted it. 67.68.210.224

Mr. Blatter's supporters and all opposition candidates in Laval are trying to give the world a REALITY check of what is actully going on in Laval. WIKIPEDIA is about truth. You might want to VERIFY THE FACTS. 24.203.134.111

Unnecessary, biased material

"Full of queer frenchmen looking to kill the english , if you run into one in canada ..there is no death penalty so ..have at it :)"

Unnecessary and against Wikipedia's policy.

it's also vandalism. -- Denstat 19:57, 17 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Birthdates in notable resident/native category

edit

publication of birthdates is no longer encouraged where attached to biographies of living persons (WP:BLP). any reason why any of these should stay in? -- Denstat 19:57, 17 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

No idea. I removed them. - Stephanie Daugherty (Triona) - Talk - Comment - 04:24, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Failing Highway Bridges

edit

Can anyone speak to the SECOND highway bridge failure in Laval, the most recent a day or so ago ??

Area of the city/island

edit

I struck out the area in square miles. Of the two listed, it's the one least-likely to be right. But it's not the equivalent of 247.07 km^2 in square miles. --N5UWY - plaws 14:53, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Lavalcoa.PNG

edit

Image:Lavalcoa.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:46, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Noteworthy people

edit

Surely Laval can count more than hockey players and figure skaters among its notable residents??? Adding a "criminal" is a nice touch (ha ha). Mariokempes 19:20, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

edit

Laval (region) says it is an "administrative region, coextensive with the city of Laval. Its number is 13." This article says that it (Laval, Quebec) "constitutes one of the 17 administrative regions of Quebec, whose number is 13".

The city of Laval, Quebec is an administrative district, but its role as administrative district should not have its own page. It's just not standard to do so... I think. (correct me if I'm one). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brandon.macuser (talkcontribs) 03:34, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Laval, Quebec

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Laval, Quebec's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "SC2006":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 16:47, 24 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
