The infobox's word 'annual' is not capitalized, but it should be.Mebigrouxboy (talk) 23:51, 30 March 2022 (UTC) Mebigrouxboy (talk) 23:51, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • What I think should be changed: The first occurrence of the word "dunams" should be hyperlinked to its respective Wikipedia article.
  • Why it should be changed: A dunam is an archaic unit of area - I did not know this, and likely other readers will not, either. A hyperlink would help add needed context.

Issue with incomplete sequence of events in introduction

edit

In the second paragraph of the introduction, the article gives an abbreviated sequence of events for the day of Land day which is commemorated. In the current paragraph, the sequence is presented as follows:

  1. The Israeli government announces a plan to confiscate land, including Arab owned land
  2. The sentence give the context for why the Israeli government is attempting to confiscate the land.
  3. The Arab towns declare a strike to protest the government action.
  4. Israeli military and police killed 6 unarmed Arab demonstrators.

The progression between sentence 3 and 4 is misleading, since it omits the context for the Israeli military and police opened fire on Arab demonstrators. I propose adding 2 additional sentences between 3 & 4

3.1. The Israeli government deployed 4000 policemen and other security forces on the day of the event. [Source 25]. This gives key context to heightened tensions.

3.2. The protests broke out in violence against the security forces, and protestors threw molotov cocktails at the security forces. [sources 28,29,30]

These points are detailed below in the article, and provide context. This can provide clarity for the reader, as it provides a factual overview of the escalation: 1. Policy announced -> 2. Protests -> 3. Deployment of security forces -> 4. Protests become violent -> 5. Security forces shoot protesters Fileyfood500 (talk) 22:37, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
