It says he recited the entire psalter 20 times in one week, accompanying each psalm with 100 lashes. There are 150 psalms * 20 times = 3000 psalms read. 3000 psalms * 100 lashes = 300,000 lashes. There are 604,800 seconds in a week. If he never slept, and managed a whip strike every two seconds, this is barely possible. Or if it was in 6 days, 518,400. More than a lash per second. Not minute. There are 1,440 minutes a day, 86,400 seconds.
