Proposed merge with Department of Epidemiology, Columbia University

edit

Individual academic departments are almost never individually notable , and there is no indication that this one is an exception. DGG ( talk ) 08:38, 27 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

In the name of standardization, I followed the lead of other Wikipedia entries, such as that of the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge when deciding to create a separate entry for this information. In particular, given the interesting history of the emergence of a new discipline (epidemiology), for which New York and this school in particular played an important role, I thought this would be appropriate. I still think it merits its own fulsome entry and works well as a stand alone piece. I'm going to try and find a couple of Creative Commons images over the next couple of weeks to add to it and make it look nicer, and a few more historic 3rd party citations to complete it.
