Derivation of name

edit

Our article says that "Chenango" is an Onondaga word, but this chart from the Susquehanna River Basin Commission, says it's Oneida. This history, from Wikisource, agrees that it's Oneida, so I'm changing it. Choess 22:53, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

There is controversy as to whether "Chenango" actually means "Bull Thistle" at all. See details here: [1]

Orphaned references in Chenango County, New York

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Chenango County, New York's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
