Chairman

edit

According to the company's website Mr. Richard G. Newman is the Chairman of the company (see http://investors.aecom.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=131318&p=irol-govBoard).

Mr. Kozonis, whose name was put in place of Newman's in a previous edit, has as far as I can see nothing to do with the company. So I restore the article to its previous form. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Geertz03 (talkcontribs) 04:16, 3 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sourcing / Promotional

edit

Much of this article is unsourced; either the information is conjecture or unverifiable -- and thus at odds with basic Wikipedia guidelines. Parts of the article are highly promotional and written like an advertisement.842U (talk) 17:46, 4 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Reverting edits on AECOM article

edit

Self-sourced (press release) info has been removed from this article by three Wikipedia editors (including myself) but has been reverted on each occasion by Ekr219. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and should include only notable information from independent, reliable sources. Businesses regularly issue press releases and not all are picked up and used by newspapers, either because there is no interest or they are not notable. I would be grateful if Ekr219 would stop reverting edits and only add information that is cited from independent, reliable sources. Sionk (talk) 23:18, 28 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Can you let me know exactly why you are reverting my edits on the page? Any detailed information you can provide would be great as I obviously keep getting in "trouble" from you for my edits. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ekr219 (talkcontribs) 19:59, 13 January 2012‎

From your comment on my Talk page I guess you understand the problem now and you appreciate that anything added to Wikipedia should be properly sourced and encyclopaedic. Thankyou for making contact. You speak in the 2nd person plural, as in "Our communications are frequently picked up by top-tier media outlets" - are you acting on behalf of AECOM? Sionk (talk) 22:27, 13 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Perfect example of what NOT to do

edit

I hate this article.

To me, it represents the perfect example of what we SHOULDN'T be doing here. It's not just written like an advert, it IS one.

Someone who knows this company needs to clean this up or just get rid of the article. --Connelly90 23:55, 15 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

To be honest I've seen worse. Being an article about a very major company it will almost certainly never be deleted. But I agree, there have been several very obvious attempts to add publicity material. I'm not sure the "advert" template is needed any more, because the advert-y stuff has largely been removed. Concur. I will fix it now. Zezen (talk) 07:18, 13 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

The claim of awards could do with a check

from waht i can establish the references is unclear as to the "global"

the article is called "top 500 design firms", unclear if it is global from the heading.

2nd obsertvation, from a check of these 500 design companies, 500 appears to be listed as based in different american states and cities? i.e. POV is top american design companies?  however canadian/american WSP is listed as "american", PCI skanska is swedish...so a little unclear

Odebrecht is for example missing, perhaps some of the asian and middle eastern are also missing? Considering the talk history of the aecom article it might be that the awards are of still suffering from PR

Declined I don't see a specific request for what is proposed to be either removed or added to the article. For example:
Proposal
Current Text Replace with
In 2008, the Prime Minister remarked that he would not leave office. The Prime Minister left office in 2008.
Please advise.

Heavy PR pruned

edit

It was painful to read. I pruned the most blatant examples. As a test I left such bits:

As of March 3, 2019, key leaders of AECOM are as follows:[22]
Michael Burke, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Daniel Tishman, Vice Chairman and Chairman of Tishman Construction Corporation
Randall Wotring...

which seem to have been inserted by an internal PR trainee. Zezen (talk) 07:34, 13 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

AECOM paying negative US Fed taxes

edit

This is how I found out about this company: https://publicintegrity.org/business/taxes/trumps-tax-cuts/you-paid-taxes-these-corporations-didnt/

Shall we mention here these negative Federal taxes:

AECOM Technology	$238	–122	–51%

? It would help balance the still existing POV slant of this article. Zezen (talk) 07:40, 13 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
